Help can change a difficult day. Staying can change the direction of a life.
Both matter. A delivered meal, a donated item, or a ride to an appointment may meet an immediate need. But for children and young adults who have experienced disrupted relationships, the deeper question often remains, “Will you still be here tomorrow?”
Fostering Hope was built around an enduring answer to that question. Volunteers become extended family to foster families. Coordinators remain connected with young adults as they navigate the uneven path toward independence. Donors and community partners provide the resources that allow those relationships to continue, not only during a visible crisis, but through the quieter months and years that follow.
Staying does not mean doing everything. It means being dependable in the role you have chosen. A volunteer may provide one ride each week. A donor may make a recurring gift. A business may consistently offer employment opportunities or professional expertise. A faith community may build a team around one foster family. Each commitment becomes part of a larger circle that can be counted on.
Consistency is especially meaningful for someone whose experience has taught them that relationships are temporary. When an adult follows through, returns after a difficult moment, and continues to celebrate progress, trust has a chance to grow. Over time, that trust supports healing, resilience, and the confidence to move forward.
Staying also changes the people who choose it. Relationships become mutual. Volunteers know children by name and watch them grow. Donors see how patient investments lead to meaningful milestones. Community partners discover that their skills and connections can become part of someone else’s future.
There will always be moments when immediate help is needed. Our invitation is to consider what might happen if that moment became the beginning of a relationship rather than the end of an interaction.
At Fostering Hope, we stay beside foster families, children, and young adults so they always have someone they can count on. There is a place for you in that enduring community, connect with us to learn more.
