Fostering Hope strives to be the extended family that foster families and young adults aging out of foster care can depend on, and our donors are no exception. Whether you are making a one-time gift, joining our Fostering Community Society, donating a car, or considering a planned gift as part of your legacy planning, you are part of our “fam.”
Making a gift
to Fostering Hope
- Your gift is tax-deductible. In addition, gifts to support our Core Program are eligible for the Colorado Child Care Tax Credit.
- More than 82% of your donation goes directly to programming.
- Fostering Hope is rated “Platinum” by GuideStar, a charity watchdog organization.
- Unless otherwise specified, your gift will be used for general operating purposes that include a range of expenses from professional staff to manage our volunteer teams to unplanned expenses in serving emancipated youth.

Planned Giving
Planned giving, also referred to as legacy giving for financial/estate planning, is a beautiful way to contribute to Fostering Hope’s mission in a lasting way. Retired? Consider an IRA contribution
If you are retired and over the age of 70, you can earn tax benefits by directing required distributions from your IRA, known as Required Minimum Distributions, to Fostering Hope. This can be a great way to do something impactful for your community while being a good steward of your retirement portfolio. We can also accept stocks and mutual funds as gifts. Donating a car or other in-kind gifts
Many of our emancipating youth reach a point in their life when a vehicle makes all the difference as they work to establish employment and/or go to college. Yet seldom does a young person exiting the foster care system have the kind of financial resources to purchase even an older car on their own.
