Program Director, Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains
Julie has worked in child welfare since 2012. In her role as Program Director, she leads efforts to support foster families and children, bringing both clinical expertise and practical leadership to the work of caring for vulnerable youth.
Julie holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and has spent her career walking alongside children and families navigating the foster care system. Her professional experience, combined with her personal perspective as an adoptive and biological mother, gives her a deep understanding of the challenges and needs foster families face.
Julie has served on the Colorado Springs Local Board since 2024. She is part of the inaugural Colorado Springs Board, helping guide and strengthen local efforts to support children and families in foster care. Her commitment to strengthening families aligns closely with Fostering Hope’s mission, and she brings valuable insight and compassion to the organization’s work.
Julie decided to join the local board because she believes deeply in the work Fostering Hope does. Through her experience in child welfare, she has seen firsthand the impact a Fostering Hope team can have on foster families. She believes Fostering Hope is able to support and stabilize vulnerable children and families in ways the child welfare system alone cannot.
She and her husband are raising their four children in Colorado Springs, along with their three cats and one dog.
